Despite the threat of postponements, the 2021/22 League Two season continued to excite and entertain in December – with drama at both ends of the table.
The six standout players in the division have been nominated for the FLW Fans’ League Two Player on the Month award, with voting now open.

Nominees: Peter Clarke, Elliott Hewitt
Tranmere Rovers continued to defy belief and the expected goals (xG) table in December – taking four wins from four games and not conceding once.

Oliver Cooper has shown this season that he’s a midfielder that can do it all and never was that more clear than last month.
The 22-year-old was ever-present for Newport County in December, with his influence felt both in and out of possession as he made 12 tackles and provided two assists.
When the end of the season rolls around, Scunthorpe’s five points from three games in December may well be the difference between remaining in the EFL and dropping into the National League.
No player was more important to their unbeaten month than midfielder Myles Hippolyte, who produced some massive moments for the Irons – scoring the equaliser against Stevenage before bagging a goal and an assist in the 3-1 win over Oldham.

Jake Beesley’s red hot December form proved bittersweet for Rochdale as he was snapped up by Blackpool in the winter window.
The striker caught fire for Dale last month, scoring four times and adding an assist as he said goodbye to the North West club’s fans and League Two in style.
