Blackpool goalkeeper Chris Maxwell has been named the GMS Fans’ League One Player of the Month for December after claiming an impressive 58% of the public vote.
The 30-year-old shot-stopper was a key figure between the sticks for the Tangerines in December, making seven important saves as he helped them to keep four clean sheets and concede just three times all month.
The Blackpool skipper’s influence wasn’t just limited to his own penalty area either as he also claimed an assist in his side’s 3-2 win against high-flying Hull City, unleashing Keshi Anderson on the break with a strong ball forward.
Maxwell has been rewarded for his exploits with the GMS Fans’ League One Player of the Month award for December, having won 58% of the public vote.
Lincoln City’s Jorge Grant received the second-largest share of the vote, 16%, closely followed by Scott Fraser from MK Dons with 13%.
Wimbledon’s Joe Pigott (8% of the public vote), Portsmouth’s Sean Raggett and Oxford United’s Josh Ruffels were also nominated.
